the At-Work
As we're down to one car at the moment, and Maggie had her scheduled cleaning at the dentist's this morning, we drove
selenite in to work. The cleaning went okay - she didn't want to open her mouth at first, but did after a bit. She is rather disappointed that this time they did not let her keep the sunglasses. She LOVES sunglasses.
Then this evening we went out to pick
selenite back up. As we drove up to the building, Maggie was eagerly chanting in the back seat, "The At-Work! The At-Work!" Yes, Maggie, this is where Daddy works. "I gotta get a job with that!" she said. Ooh, honey, have to see what Daddy has to say about that.
I told
selenite about it as soon as he got into the car. He started laughing hysterically. "Not if I have anything to say about it, Maggie!" he said. Much in the way of a coal miner whose child had just said they'd turn down that scholarship and go join the union.

And to think...
Re: And to think...
Lockheed: bad.
Now if she gets job in a competent engineering organization (such as the kind described in my birthday present, and thank you) I'd be all for it.
