It feels a bit odd to be home and quietly recovering *today* from a big fun party weekend - seems as if my calendar has slipped a day, I shouldn't be doing that until tomorrow. ;-P

Although I *did* get to shout "throw me somethin' Mister!" over the weekend, and I have the beads to prove it.

Heh, that is rather funny isn't it? Maybe make some pancakes today, as some kind of traditional commemoration even if you're not Catholic. [I haven't got a Mardi Gras icon so I'm posting Tegan's piccie, because she still mooches pancakes or anything else you got. She still has a delicate enough mouth to eat from chopsticks too!]

Was that trip ConDFW? I hear good things about the filking there from the Firefilk mailing list.

After the housefilk here a week ago Saturday, Karl made pancakes and bacon for us and those who crashed here for breakfast. There was LOTS of it. I mean, enough bacon that we couldn't finish it all and wrapped it up for later. So I figure that covers it. Although if Karl wants to make pancakes for dinner, I will be all for it.

I did not go to ConDFW. I had been disappointed in the filking there previously - tiny little room - and the smoke issue is just too miserable. (Yes, I know they said it was going to be nonsmoking. 7 am to 7pm - lots of a con is after 7 pm. Also, there was apparently not going to be any enforcing of that, and the whole area was still going to REEK of smoke. I'll pass.)

I haven't heard post-con reports, but pre-con faxpaladin was complaining that they were setting up filk panels for 4 pm Friday and 10 am Saturday, while also expecting him to run the late/all-night filking. And I heard the dealers couldn't get hold of anyone from the con for weeks. Eh.

Instead I went and spent the weekend in Atlanta and got to see various friends, went dancing, went shopping, and had a private housefilk thrown in my honor!
