Lawns, sprinklers, and mud with PICTURES

Karl did some backyard lawn work today while the kids were napping.

When she woke up from her nap, we sent Maggie out to play in the sprinkler, wearing just a t-shirt, pullup, and old sandals. She was dubious about it at first. She later went topless and started getting into it. Jamie woke up, so I got him out of Sunday clothes, into shorts and his sandals, and sent him out.

We went out to spend time with them, and I had Karl grab the camera for me. Jamie here is looking at me and saying "Hug?"

Karl said "muddy and wanting to hug you, that's a boy all right."

 

He's just discovered the childhood joy of stomping mud puddles. Mud all up his leg and shorts. Oh man, he's going to be quite the cleanup job. But he looks like he's having fun.

 

Maggie decides Jamie's getting into a good thing here. Or maybe she's just not willing to be outdone on anything.

 

They thought the sprayer attachment for the hose was fun, too. Maggie kept yelling "Me! Me!"

She was even running across the yard, climbing up into her "castle", and yelling to be sprayed there. Karl adjusted the sprayer and got her.

They've both gone upstairs and are splashing in a nice warm bath overseen by Karl.
