FOD - Finished Object Dance of the Lace Throw

The diamonds lace throw is finished! Bound off, ends woven in. YAY!!!

I think it needs to be blocked. I'm dreading the very idea. I don't have the right kind of pins for that. [livejournal.com profile] bkseiver, I so wish you could just come over and help with it. For now it is folded and shoved back into the paper bag. (But I neatly ballwindered the remaining yarn on that last skein and tucked the label inside. All tidied up.)

The lace throw had been the initial high scorer on my what-to-knit-next poll, and of course I do whatever the voices tell me to I'm interested in input from my friends, so I did that next. (After a brief scuffle with the Lace Scarf of Evil.)

Since then the winning vote on the poll has been for starting Maggie's beaded knit dress.

So now I will go cast on to swatch for that. It would be a fairly small swatch, in stockinette - but I know my knit and purl gauges are not identical, and since it's knit in the round (yay!) I will swatch in the round. Which means a much bigger swatch. But must be done. My life will now be very, very pink for a while.

Ah, we have the beads. I ended up going down to Artful Bead in south Fort Worth. Lovely experience - I walked in and said I needed size 6 glass seed beads, they took me right to them. And they had a toybox for Maggie. She picked the color, a pale pink a bit lighter than the yarn.

Glad you were able to find them and Maggie's toybox as well.
