Mardi Gras

Busy day yesterday. Showed off clothes that [livejournal.com profile] cflute sent me to [livejournal.com profile] fordprfct, with squeeing. Picked up comforters - ow, expensive, not going THERE again. Mailed off Stuff. Helped him clean through old mail and such. Watched him clean other things. Found out why Jamie's brand-new glasses were leaving a mark on his nose - the nosepad was disintegrating - went and had it replaced. Went to Central Market, the new one in Southlake, with an *amazing* play area for the kids.

So glad to see Karl after work. In the evening, we all had king cake together. Sigh, I can't eat more than a couple bites of it. VERY fussy tummy lately. But hey, there were beads on it. So of course I said "throw me somefin', mister!"And why yes, I did get asked the traditional question for adult women in reply. And what the heck, I did it. Not quite the same when it's inside the house and it's your own beloved asking, but hey, I got the beads. :-)

Sadly, Jamie seems to have come down sick with something. Not sure what all the problem is, but he is a bit feverish. Seems to be doing pretty well now, though, with the ibuprofen having kicked in. Keeping him home from school, though. I feel so bad about preschool handing him sickness after sickness.

I dunno... I got sick a lot as a kid, and I didn't do anything much with other kids till I was about 9 (when I started private school). I'd far rather have gotten it out of the way when I didn't want to actually play with my friends; I once faked not being sick, in order to go to school where all the other kids were! This sort of backfired when I felt awful at lunch and my mom had to come get me...

Of course, some of my getting-sick episodes were probably due to the histoplasmosis. It might be a good idea to make sure that there aren't a lot of blackbirds or bats or the like in the area of the preschool; the symptom of "mysterious fever" is one that the initial histo infection can cause.
