Braids cardigan sleeves

Braids cardigan left sleeve currently has 108 stitches. I want to get down to around 50 stitches. Length to go, ~12.5 to 13". Row gauge appears to be 7 rows per inch. It said to do 3" and then start decreases.

So lessee, say there's 10" worth of decreases, that's about 70 rows, and I want to get rid of 58 stitches, and each decrease row takes out 2, so I want 29 decrease rows.

Yeah, the "every 4th round" that is the initial decrease is not going ot do it. They suggest decreasing every 3rd round. That'd be 87 rows, and that's 17 rows more. So then I need to start the decrease rows earlier, less than 3". Actually, 87 rows should be 12.4 inches. So... looks like maybe I should do only a few rows and then start decreasing.

I think I want to call [livejournal.com profile] bkseiver for a sanity check. Also, I should get Karl's help to get more precise measurements - it's hard to measure a sweater I'm trying on my own body.

So setting this aside until I can have some time with him.
