Staples...my first experience with staples was removing 150 of them from a cabbie who had been stabbed and robbed. I know the number because you have to document how many you remove for the chart. The tool looks very much like any staple remover, but comes sterilized.

When I was a post-op patient, my doctor removed my staples before I left the hospital...not at all a bad experience.
