ORAC meeting

celticdragonflyYesterday was the ORAC meeting. Due to lack of advance planning on our part, and being unable to reach the sitter by phone, Karl sent me to the meeting and stayed home with the kids. I had a good time, and am looking forward to FENCON!
I have decided THAT'S IT, I'm too frustrated from hearing everybody talk about Firefly and Farscape. I need to see these. I hope I can borrow DVDs from somebody. I'm still a bit nervous about is this okay in front of Maggie. If I can only watch it during Maggie-free time, it's going to take a long time.
I also want to go to the movies. Tim, our host for the ORAC meeting, showed me the trailer for Sky Captain. Oh, I wanna see this. They'd been talking about it during the meeting, and saying that the character Angelia Jolie played showed that she'd be perfect as Honor Harrington, if those books were ever filmed. I'd been saying I knew David Weber would explode if anybody tried that, he'd go completely postal. Then I saw the preview. Damn, they're right. What a shame.
It's opening next Friday. Generally if I'm going to see a movie opening weekend, I want it to be the FIRST showing in the morning on Saturday, which isn't going to be so crowded. Sadly,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
selenite is committed to go do a riverbank cleanup thing with Brendan and the Spiral Scouts group. AGH. I wonder if the group would like to work out another time.
There was also mention of the upcoming Halloween party. "Come as your favorite scary person". I don't know what to do for that. "SleepDeprivation Woman" is hardly a costume. ;-) I did have an idea recently for a costume party, but it isn't anything scary. It occurred to me this morning that if I could do up a Madame DuFarge outfit, I could bring my knitting... Must find costumers to consult with.
