Mardi Gras
Feb. 21st, 2007 09:28 amBusy day yesterday. Showed off clothes that
cflute sent me to
fordprfct, with squeeing. Picked up comforters - ow, expensive, not going THERE again. Mailed off Stuff. Helped him clean through old mail and such. Watched him clean other things. Found out why Jamie's brand-new glasses were leaving a mark on his nose - the nosepad was disintegrating - went and had it replaced. Went to Central Market, the new one in Southlake, with an *amazing* play area for the kids.
So glad to see Karl after work. In the evening, we all had king cake together. Sigh, I can't eat more than a couple bites of it. VERY fussy tummy lately. But hey, there were beads on it. So of course I said "throw me somefin', mister!"( TMI )
Sadly, Jamie seems to have come down sick with something. Not sure what all the problem is, but he is a bit feverish. Seems to be doing pretty well now, though, with the ibuprofen having kicked in. Keeping him home from school, though. I feel so bad about preschool handing him sickness after sickness.

Washing machines - call for opinions
Feb. 21st, 2007 11:17 amLooks like
selenite and I may be about to buy a new washing machine.
Short form - our 9+ year old washer has problems, repair dude said it'd cost $280-odd to fix it. That's probably more than half the cost of a new one, we're thinking.
So we're going to be looking into replacement. Maybe shopping some tonight, maybe later. Not sure where yet, either.
Anyway. The old one is a large capacity. I'd *like* to get a MEGA capacity, but doubt I can afford that, but I gotta have the large capacity.
Other than that - suggestions? Advice? Avoid brand X? Make sure we get one with those nifty new Left-handed Dingleboppers that they didn't have 9 years ago? Talk to me, people.
EDIT: On the various advice about frontloaders - it occurs to me that might really help with the "training Maggie to help with the laundry more" plan. Hm. How do you put the soap into those things?
