Rainbow sweater
May. 25th, 2007 02:35 pmThe Yarn Harlot was posting yesterday and today about a rainbow baby sweater she's doing. It's CUTE. And having looked at the company's website, it's handpainted *superwash* merino yarn - so gorgeous and special, but also machine-washable. Very important on baby stuff.
Buying 8 skeins of that yarn would be $160, way too much. But the Yarn Harlot's local yarn store has been kitting it up, little tiny balls, for $40.
So I called them up. They had 2 left. It's for size 6-9 months - the little one MIGHT fit that this fall, when it gets cooler, right? And it's knit from the neck down in all one piece, no seaming, which is just the type of pattern I love. And hey, I don't normally do multicolor stuff, but this one I can handle, so it'll be a bit more fun.
Yes, there's the risk she won't fit it when it's cool enough - which means, okay, I got to knit a fun little sweater and it gets put aside for some other lucky baby, I'm willing to risk that.
So they now have one left, and one will be shipped to ME.
