We've borrowed the Season 1 Babylon 5 DVDs from the Tyras's, since we'd sent our tapes to
[livejournal.com profile] phoenixsinger and she hadn't gotten all the way through them before visiting, and it was driving us nuts to not go on to season 2. So we've been enthusiastically watching the 2nd half of the season, last night and today.

Maggie loves it. She'd already learned to watch and discuss "the captain" from watching Firefly. Today every time we stop for a break she says "more Babylon 5, please!"

Her favorite question when she doesn't understand, which is often, "What happened? What happened to the captain?"

She was looking at B4 in Babylon Squared, and said "The moon!"

"That's not a moon, it's a space station!" we chorus in reply.

[livejournal.com profile] phoenixsinger seems to be hooked, too.

Yes! Hook them young!

We could arrange for more Babylon 5 DVDs to come visit you, if need be....

We have seasons 2-4 on DVD, waiting for her to get through season 1. Although it'd be fun to have more viewers, and we'd love to have you visit. (There's a filking birthday party this Friday!)

I know. I don't have a weekend off yet, though. :(

I am off for the Super Bowl and Monday, though, so looking forward to actually enjoying a party here this time.

*giggle*

Does Maggie "get" the "space station" reference? Or will this be a good "blackmail story" when she's older? *weg*

She's never seen Star Wars, no. And if she did at this age I don't think she's old enough to understand it yet.

Yes, unfortunately I AM hooked. [livejournal.com profile] selenite refered to the DVDs the other day (subtitles, extra features, no commercials, no waiting week to week, etc) as "getting the heroin straight from the bag" (LOL) and I'm afraid he's right.I don't think I'll ever get my husband converted to B5, but I am on a mission to convince him that the season DVDs would make great birthday presents, Christmas presents, and so on.
