Housefilk success
Jan. 29th, 2005 01:05 pmWe had a lovely housefilk last night. All 4 of the Tyras family came, Gerry, Sandy, Rhiannon, and Sean. Joe, the FaxPaladin, came up from Waco. And of course
selenite, the kids, myself, and
phoenixsinger is still here.
The Tyras brought me filk CDs they put together from old tapes, and Joe gave me a CD of mps3 and lyrics and such, that I'm going to have much fun going through. There was food, and
selenite got a decorated birthday cookie for me, he knows how much I love those. There was singing, and storytelling, and a fun time talking. I got to show off my player piano and sang my Admiral Miles filk TTTO King of the Road to one of the rolls. When Joe got here he had his guitar, so that was helpful, too.
Jamie keeps having a rough time and crying when people laugh a lot, we don't know why. And he's teething molars badly. We got through as best as we could. Maggie alternated between being right in the party and going off and playing on her own, she was pretty good. She got to stay up really late, but was a good girl when it was finally decreed time for her to go to bed.
This morning I opened my birthday present, from my parents - an iced tea maker, yay! Oh, and I got myself a birthday present Thursday evening - a HAT! I finally found one I like. Hopefully it will be the beginning of a nice collection of them. I'll try to get a decent picture with it on soon, next time I get a chance to dress up nice enough for that.
