Ow. Ow. Ow.
Apr. 4th, 2005 02:21 pmI am in agony from spending a day doing building work yesterday. The sunburned arms hurt, my right wrist hurts, my right shoulder particularly hurts, and my legs are sore and pained. Every step hurts. Sitting down, particularly on a low seat (hm, like that one in the small room with plumbing), hurts a LOT and I have a hard time not falling.
Ow. Ow. Ow. I have taken painkillers, they don't seem to be doing much. And I keep slathering my arms with aloe gel.
If it wasn't that I have to take care of the babies, I'd go take something to make me sleep, like nyquil, and go back to bed for the day.
I am not getting diddly done today, which is a shame, since the house is an awful mess.

Date: 2005-04-04 11:57 pm (UTC)The other old folk remedy for a sunburn is to take a shower with water as hot as you can stand it. Supposedly it shocks the skin into numbness. I've tried it, in desperation, but the lidocaine spray is a lot less painful-- though the hot shower might help the muscle aches.
My sympathies!

Date: 2005-04-05 12:10 am (UTC)I was expressing my hope to Karl last night that perhaps with enough aloe, it would heal gracefully, not peel, and just turn into a tan. He gave me that "you must be kidding" look, and said "So, what is the Welsh word for 'tan'?"
Sigh. Yep. Don't think there is one.
Time to go gel myself again.
