Murphy's law, toddler version

It is invariably true that when I realize "my, I really should eat something for lunch", as soon as the microwave beeps that it's done, the sleeping toddler will wake up crying.

Sigh....

Be there in front of the microwave, and stop it one second before it would beep. No difference in cooking, really, and it doesn't wake the kids.

I don't think it's the beep. I think I could be cooking something completely silently on the stovetop and it would work just the same. I think it's just the timing.
