oddities of two

Maggie's playing outside. I just looked out the living room window and saw her wearing a funnel on her head, rubbing a brick up and down against the wooden fence.

Nowhere is it written that two year olds have to make sense.

No, that's not the brick (there's only one around, usually she draws on it in chalk), it's something else. What is that? Piece of wood? Part of some toy? Hm, I bet she still has her chalk, and whatever that is, she's declared it to be her eraser.

It may be that she's using the brick as if it were chalk. Bricks have this lovely brickish red powdery dust similar to chalk, and they're very easy to grind against even a moderately hard surface.

So, Maggie makes perfect sense using a brick on the fence.

Yah, but what about the funnel?

She looked like a little plastic version of the Tin Man. She's only seen that once, back at Xmas, though, so probably she's just exhibiting her usual predilection for hats.

What her mom said! Maggie seems to be all about TEH HATS.
