"Charming"

[livejournal.com profile] selenite was looking at job ads, and telling me about one listed from an "Exciting and Upcoming Aerospace Company"

I said I thought that sounded like the recruiter's equivalent of the realtor's "charming", meaning "seriously needs fixing up".

He said he figured it meant something like "Congratulations! Your employee number will be Lucky Seven!"

I groaned and said with his propensity to end up with hatchet-man jobs, it would be 007, licensed to harass.

An aerospace company that wasn't "upcoming" would be downgoing, and that sounds like a crash real soon. Unless it's a subplane, I guess

It could just be going in circles. Like when I used to build satellites.

Would it be in this area, maybe? ;-)

No, actually in the next zip code to our place. Zip code is all I know about it, the ad was through a recruiter. But I might drive around and see if I can spot it.

I have to agree--sounds like they hope to use excitement in lieu of, oh, say, paychecks?
