Sock FOD

Finished Object Dance, yay!

This pattern is from the book A Gathering of Lace. I like that it had both narrow and wide versions, so I didn't have to rewrite the sock. The yarn is Fortissima Cotton. I was going to do it in a gray wool, but then realized it was written for the Fortissima cotton, and decided just for once to follow suit. Mostly because it's about the only recommended yarn in Gathering of Lace that I recognize.

I enjoyed the pattern, and may do it again. This version is the 15-stitch repeat bold version. (They had 14 and 13 stitch versions, each bold or feathered)

I made the leg a bit shorter than recommended, tweaked the heel flap, and customized the toe.

And I saw that as Foreign Object Damage...

Yep, I spell it out for you poor non-knitters.

Very nice!

I'm fixing to start some pattern out of that book once I've finished two current projects; still wavering over which one I want to try. (I wanted to do the Mediterranean Lace Shawl, but it turns out that one of the typos was in the weight of yarn needed, so while I might still make a swatch of the laceweight I've got and see whether it'd still work, I'll probably do the Shetland Tea Shawl instead.)
