Wet cold kid emergency

celticdragonflyWHEW. Somedays, like yesterday, I get complimented on my kids' behavior and think I'm doing a great job. Other days, well, I think I'm not the brightest crayon in the box.
Earlier I posted the kids' pics going outside to play. I knew there were a few raindrops, but figured if it got any stronger they'd come in. Well, when Maggie came to the door saying they got wet I thought that was it. She was wetter than I expected though. I went out to get Jamie - he was SOPPING. Sweater, shirt, pants, shoes, socks. I realized - right, back when we had that issue with the hole in the fence and the neighbor's dog, Karl had put the empty sandtable upside down against the fence to block it, then when the neighbors fixed it, he just pulled it back and set it rightside up. Without the lid. And it RAINED Sunday. So the thing was full of cold water. I suspect they'd been playing in it some, then managed to slosh a lot of it over themselves.
I hustled them upstairs and into a very warm bath, let them play in that for a while, then washed them and got them into clean dry clothes. They're now having warm mac and cheese for lunch.
