Has been a distracted day, as one of Jamie's therapists - the new one, I don't know what to call him, he isn't a speech therapist really, he's sorta the autism specialist, but thinking Jamie isn't autistic - anyway, he was scheduled to come see Jamie at lunch.

These things are stressful to me. I know darn well that they won't - can't - notice that I swept the kitchen floor, did the dishes, the handwashing, scrubbed out the sink, cleaned several counters, cleaned off the front of the microwave, scrubbed Jamie's high chair tray. Might notice that both kids were freshly bathed, since their hair was still wet. So was mine.

What I figure they WILL notice is that the floor hasn't been mopped, there's stuff piled on some counters and the extra table, the stovetop needs cleaning, and the kids had strewn toys, books, blankets, chair cushions, and more all around the living room and foyer.

Sigh. I got my own lunch after 3.

Moving on to hair scrunchies. I used to have them. When my hair was long, I remember having oh, probably a dozen or two. In varying fabrics and colors. They were cute. Then I cut my hair short again, just after Jamie was born. In the resulting couple of years they have VANISHED. I don't know where they go.

Now that my hair has just finally reached long enough to USE one again, just barely, I can only find one. And that was a couple days ago, I don't know where it is now.

If I were Queen of the Universe, pretty nice scrunchies would just start appearing all around me.

I'll see what I can do about the scrunchies. They're very easy to make, and I have leftover butterfly fabric. :)

Yay! Butterfly scrunchies! That match a pretty apron!

Perhaps I am Queen of the Universe. Perhaps I am metamorphosing into Queen of the Universe, before your very eyes, much like a butterfly working its way out of the cocoon.

We shall see.

So, this "working your way out of your cocoon" thing, is it private, or do others get to watch? ;)

Hm, perhaps I shall deign to arrange private watchings.

Perhaps I should offer private watchings for those who bring Me sufficiently pretty offerings of scrunchies!

Any chance Karina or Rorik have spirited away the scrunchies?

Penelope highly recommends them as cat toys.

That, or in the toybox. Or, in short, anywhere they shouldn't be.

Anytime I go to a house that has kids that DOES NOT have toys and clothing and such strewn about, I simply assume that all the strewn matter has been shoved behind a closed door at the last minute.

Kids make messes. It's a fact of life.
