celticdragonfly: (Knitting for dummies - Jayne)

I only get really cranky about swatching when it doesn't go right the first time.

Pattern called for size 7, so naturally I jumped up to size 8. I knit tight after all, and I usually go up a size.

They wanted 16 stitches and 24 rows to come out to 4". It came out to 3".

Sigh.

So now I'm trying to figure out if I should try size 9, I do have a bamboo circ in that size, dunno if it'll be long enough - or go right up to the 10.5.

I've done the math for this before, trying to remember how it went. I shall consult my darling math geek [livejournal.com profile] selenite. There should be a use for having a math genius in the household, after all.
