And the sargent came over, handed me some DPNs, sent me down the hall, said, "You're our boy."

OMG That is TOO funny, both as a fledgling knitter and as a longtime Arlo Guthrie fan. I must say, though, I'm curious what the knitter's "Group W Bench" would be like *snerk*

I was recently showing Animal House to fordprfct - we only got partway through it, but were enjoying it - and telling him yeah, I knew this well, and grew up with that attitude towards ROTC (including pronouncing it as a word, not letters) - and then I ended up marrying a ROTC scholar! My darling selenite is nothing like Niedermeyer, though!
