Playscapes, whee
Today has been a busy fun day. Yesterday was dismal, dark, and rainy - and we need the rain, yes, but it leaves me feeling logy, anti-social, sleepy, and wanting my cave.
Today I went to Playscapes with the kids at the Glenview Baptist Church. There's not much information about it, the subpage is missing, but if you go to this link you can see some pictures of the big indoor play area and climbing structure. Climbing areas, slides, part of it looks like a huge tree. One of Jamie's developmental therapists recommended it and met us there to see how Jamie did with the structure and the other kids.
WHEEEEEEE! Absolutely amazing play area, and they not only allow the adults to climb up, they encourage it. And Jamie did great. After about an hour and a half, he got overwhelmed, but did great earlier. Maggie was quite self-sufficient, was even helping Jamie at various points. I climbed up a lot, I can still feel it in my muscles, especially my back. I got my exercise today.
They have open play for the little ones certain days each month - I can tell we'll have to go back again.
It was also a stunningly beautiful day. Clear blue sky, a few clouds at the edges, everything felt so clean after the rain, and it was in the 70s, going up to low 80s. PERFECT. So I wanted to go have lunch outside. I arranged to meet
fordprfct for lunch, and we had a nice lunch outside on the patio at Red Robin. It felt good to be outside, even if the typical north Texas breeze was blowing napkins away and my hair in my face despite the scrunchie. Afterwards we tried to go by a yarn store, but space cadet that I can be sometimes, I'd forgotten it was a Monday, and they were closed. Now I'm home, and Jamie is sleeping a nap of great tiredness.

A Good Thing

Glad there is a place like this where you can just turn them loose to romp.
Not to mention being able to play along, as long as your knees last...
