Shawl update

I have finished 13 diamonds per quarter. (The first lace pattern goes up to 15 diamonds per section) I just did row 104 (of eventually 184). The rows now have 490 stitches per row (will eventually have 762). So I'm now 36.5% done. Today I have knit 1,944 stitches so far. 29,818 stitches so far in the whole thing. And yes, I love [livejournal.com profile] selenite, my Spreadsheet Master.

I have a long way to go, but I am getting a lot done. This is for the shawl I started on Sept. 1st. I wish I had started it a lot earlier - it'd be nice to have a shawl for FenCon, but not possible. Next time.

I've mostly been working on it, with a side tangent to do the swatching for Sock Wars, which is starting Friday.

So what shawl is it, again?

My Rona is going pretty well, except for the part where I'm too tired to work on her.

This one:

See the top section that has rows of little diamonds? That's the part that when you get to the end of it, there's 15 diamonds per quarter. I just finished 13 diamonds per quarter. Doesn't that LOOK as if it ought to be way more than 36%? But no....

Oh, Folk Shawls! I keep looking at it in the bookstore. I'm not quite sure why I haven't bought it yet.

I don't actually have it. But my mother does, so I can 'borrow' the pattern.

I am on my very first pair of socks (the second one!), so I'm not going to play Sock Wars. Good luck.

Yay socks!

I really need to write up a post to brag on this - I taught [livejournal.com profile] fordprfct to knit this month. We'd occasionally talked about he should try it, I was sure with his dexterity he'd be good at it - and he decided sure, he'd let me teach him for Sock Wars. So far he's done one child's sock for Children in Common - we'll get back to the 2nd one later - and his swatch for Sock Wars, and he's signed up and ready for Friday!
