Knit marker triumph

There is no way I could write up everything cool about last weekend. My post on the 16th was but a bare shadow, written while badly sleep deprived, so I could stick the pics up, but I think overall it's going to have to do.

But one thing did deserve a bit more mention - we were giving out early August birthday presents, and man, I nailed it with bkseiver's. Hers are always a bit interesting, trying to come up with something just right. This time I was pretty sure I had something she'd like. From her reaction, oh yes. Sounds like the lucky thing is that she hadn't gotten it for herself yet.

Wendy of WendyKnits blog had posted about these adorable stitch markers she got - tiny little fimo sculptures. Here's the online store for Wee Ones. Warning, they're adorable, and very reasonable. Tiny little sculpture sets made into knitting markers, and SO cute.

I got a set for Mom of the seal point Siamese cats, 4 of them, each playing with a ball of pink yarn, each in a different pose. Apparently she not only knew about the site, but knew the knit blogger whose cat was the inspiration. (Wendy has a set of ragdoll cat stitch markers that were inspired by her cat, and apparently the sculptor went on from there)

I have a set for myself, too - the sheep set, 3 white, one black.

I have begun a pullover shell. The silly pattern maker thinks I'll knit a front and a back separately! I'm knitting in the round, with a kitty sitting up at the beginning of the round, and a kitty laying down with yarn at the beginning of the back. Yes, indeed, they are good kitties!
