Nope, that didn't work. Agatha is still dead.

Next stage - he's going to open her back up to get various details, and then we need to go out and try buying a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM.

Although from what he said, the power supply WAS dead. (He corrects me "likely nonfunctional, and dangerous.") So this stage was necessary.

Sometimes when the Magic Smoke Containment Unit fails it sends shards of itself down to the rest of the system causing problems.

Poor Agatha!

The power supply in Joyce's desktop went out about a year ago. Luckily it didn't seem to take anything else with it, so swapping out the supply did the trick. When the power supply decides to start poking other parts of the system as it goes it can get really nasty.
