I used to take Sharon with me to quilting at that age or just slightly older. She had one of those scooter-seats and would zip around underneath the quilting frame with her head just making an upward dent in the stretched quilt. The group in Mountain Home was mostly the generation of my mom, and THEIR grandbabies were generally up north somewhere. So they loved her.
Try phoning someone in the group, and ask about infant-tolerance, once you get Jamie back into classes.
