So I'd posted yesterday:
Current mood: cranky. grouchy. crotchety.
(Five bonus points to anyone other than selenite who gets the mood reference)

And [livejournal.com profile] 17catherines asked if it meant "Crotchety or crochet-y? "

No, actually, that's not it. Keep trying! (Okay, I put a hint in my interests section. But if you've never seen it, it won't help.)

On the other hand, it reminded me of a whole group of projects I did that I forgot to write about. Minor stuff, of no great significance, but I did get it done.

It started with this, an octagonal dishcloth/facecloth that I made in theory to put under the humidifier when we moved it out of the bathroom and onto the new cherrywood dresser. This hasn't actually happened yet, but maybe it'll happen someday. I made it bigger than the pattern goes to, so it would be big enough for my purposes. So rather than continue working on 4 needles with the 5th as the working needle, I switched to 8 needles that the project was on plus a 9th working needle. Seemed logical to me, and since the pattern is octagonal I actually found it easier. As I've been told since then that people find those who work with 5 dpns (4 plus 1 working) to be much more impressive than those who work with 4, I wish somebody'd seen me working with 9.

Then I decided to work up some little gift baskets. I made up crocheted baskets - the pattern was on the Lily yarns site, but for some odd reason they've since taken them down. I made them in several colors, and made matching facecloths in different patterns - diamond edge circular facecloth, the double flower cloth, and this round flower one. I put the facecloths in the baskets with three little soaps each, in different scents and shapes. Two were given to the ladies running the church nursery, and one to someone we knew having a birthday. I want to make up some more for the teachers in Brendan's Sunday school - I was going to give one there, but they seem to be rotating or changing teachers, and I'm *confused*. And there's someone new working in the nursery, and a couple teenagers that we're getting to know, so I really should make more.

And I made a croched soap bag for me, for leftover soap bits, and I have a green variegated cotton yarn that I'm going to do one up for [livejournal.com profile] selenite. In my copious spare time.
