I am still trying to find a graph, cross-stitch or needlepoint (or whatever) pattern with a celtic knotwork heart. I have not been able to find what I want. I've hunted online, hunted through Hobby Lobby, searched through books at Barnes and Noble, even had them order a couple more for me that I went through that didn't help. Agh.

Any more suggestions from anyone? I really really want to find this. I'm going to use it in a design I'm working up, it's going to be a very important part of it.

Have you found one you like otherwise? Take the picture you like, blow it up to the size you want, and use the nifty see-through vinyl sheets with grids printed on them to turn them into charts. My friend Countess Kathryn from the West Kingdom (most recently known to be in An Tir) and her mother (aunt?) produced the first of these I'd ever seen, mumblety mumble years ago, but I don't think they patented them, and I've recently seen them in Michael's, probably by a different manufacturer, in a number of different count sizes.

There are also computer programs that work with your scanner to produce cross-stitch charts from a picture. Check the cheap-software racks at Best Buy, which is where I got my copy (which, of course, I have never used, so I can't rate it for you.)

I have Patternmaker Pro and would be happy to make a pattern from a picture if you want to email it to me.

I'll ask on my MagickStitches list, too.

I think I want to take you up on that.

I found a site that is selling what I suspect is a file to plug into one of those fancy embroidery machines. The link is here:
http://www.cyberstitches.net/images/celticheart.jpg
It says " For any file you purchase, you will be e-mailed zip files containing asd, dst, exp, hus, jef, pcs, pcm, xxx and sew and within a 24 hour timeframe." I was going to try to email the lady, but the email link doesn't work, and there's no other way to contact her on the webpage, which is making me a bit nervous.

What kind of file would you need?

I found various other pictures that would do, but that one's really good.

Alternate pictures that tempt me are

That is a nice design.

I know my version of PatternMaker will make and read files for embroidery machines - I'm not sure which types, though. If you send me the zip file, though, I should be able to figure it out.

Marvelous. I went ahead and ordered it. I don't know how long it will take her to get back to me and send it. This is good.

The church already has several banners on the kind of theme I'm thinking of, but VERY different style. Sorta bad 70's applique, actually. Snobby me thinks mine will look much nicer.

And in all this hunting around, I did find out that the local hobby lobby carries 10 spi canvas in stock. I suspect I'm going to want to blow this all the way up to the 6 spi rug canvas that my celtic knotwork cross-stitch book recommends for a rug design that it shows, in sport weight yarn. Now I oughta start researching how to get that. Must find the book today.

I'm sure I will post pictures. But it'll be a while - it's going to be a long involved project, and the design stage and the obtaining materials stage will both take a while.

And huzzah, the zip file is here already! I shall email it to you shortly. I always like to warn people before emailing attachments so they don't have virus worries. Subject line is Embroidery file from CyberStitches.net.

Okay - I tried going to your website to get an email addy. And you have a form instead. Which I tried to send a message through, but I can't, apparently due to my norton firewall. Sigh.

Could you please email me at kelts at charter dot net? So I can know where to send the file?

Thanks so much for being willing to do this for me!
