Tooth!

We have breakthrough! Jamie's first tooth. Lower right front incisor has broken through the skin.

Oh gods. He's got a tooth out. Almost a month younger than Maggie did. I'm having to fight off reflexively crossing my arms in front of my chest in miserable anticipation...

Waitaminit-- my two never bit me more than once or twice, because it was an immediate disengage with my finger in the corner of their mouths; they learned quick. I just wouldn't put up with being a chew toy. I nursed Ian to 16 months, Kirstin for a year. Oh, and poor Ian cut his first five teeth within three hours on the same day. He was... cranky that day.

I remember my youngest brother biting my mother once. My stepfather laughed at her, and she thought up something gruesomely embarrassing to do to him as revenge-- but I don't recall what it was.

Spouses should never laugh at a nursing mom. ;)
