Not that it's a big surprise, given how he bit Leeann at the UU nursery this morning...

Jamie now has teeth #5 and #6 both. Prodigious little shark, he is.

I had a flash of enlightenment, I now understand why the Tooth Fairy comes and leaves money for the older kids' teeth. It's a recycling business. Where did we think the babies were getting theirs from? The T.F. just sharpens them up (ow) and redelivers them. ;-)

You need to read Hogfather, by Terry Pratchett. Trust me. Get thee hence and read Pratchett, but particularly that one, as the Tooth Fairy plays a major role.

Read it, have it, love it. It's one of my favorite Pratchett's. "Apple Sauce!"

I'm just coming up with my own little variant.

I am holding out for The Monstrous Regiment to come out in paperback, but other than that we own most of the Pratchetts. Personally, I don't care much for the Rincewind books. Well, possibly more accurately I don't care for Rincewind.

I adore the Lancre witch books. Back when there were only two, I used to give them to my students to read.

I love the Vimes/Carrot books. Carrot scares me a little sometimes. I love the witch books; my favorite of those is Lords and Ladies. The only Rincewind book I like is "Interesting Times" bc of the parody of Asian cultures.

Hogfather is my favorite Pratchett. The Tooth Fairy backstory is great. But the part I like best is Death's justification for the Santa Claus myth--training wheels for grasping abstract concepts such as justice, mercy, freedom . . .

After that I like the witch and watch books before the rest of the death ones, and the Rincewind ones are fun but just not as good as the rest.
