selenite went to teach Sunday school at the Unitarian church for the first time. He took Maggie and Brendan to go to the nursery and to another Sunday school class, respectively, and left Jamie and I at home. I'm working on putting up some knitting webpages and attempting a felting experiment.
I just got a call fromselenite on the cellphone, he's on his way home. We were discussing what to have for lunch. He suggested something, and I said we didn't have anything to go with it. He suggested I scoop up Jamie and go out in the van to pick up a side dish.
I said "Um, honey - aren't YOU in the van?"
long pause on the phone
"Habits are really scary things, you know?" says he. We start laughing. Of couse, since he wasn't with me, he was assuming he was in the other car.
He said the really scary thing was he had to look - look over to the other seat, down at the dashboard, and think 'oh, yeah, I'm in the van'.
