Toddler shoes

celticdragonflySo a couple of weeks ago Karl came home from the unitarian church with a pair of toddler shoes. Black leather-look boot things, with zippers up each side. I asked WHAT was with those? He said Lee Ann, who runs the nursery, had given them to him thinking they'd fit Maggie, and if they didn't, bring them back and she'd find another home for them.
I looked at them and said well, even if they fit her, I'd never dress her in those, so might as well take them back.
Sadly, Maggie had already seen them. And for some reason, adores them.
She found them again this morning and is insisting on wearing them. Okay. I knew my decisions on what she is and isn't to wear were going to get challenged, but I didn't expect it this soon. I guess it's right that Twohood is a preview of the teenage years. I can live with these boots for now, although if she steps on my bare toes again with them, they may just get Disappeared. They're like little jackboots.
