Sleepy Wednesday, and a technology desire

Paid the first installment on my sleep debt this morning. selenite is a darling. At my request he got up and got Brendan off to the school bus while letting me go back to sleep. He is marvelous, and I will have to make it up to him.

Still sleepy. But the weekend was SO worth it.

Just heard from my mom, bkseiver. She's in their new house, they've just closed, and will be moving in shortly. New phone number, I shall miss the old one. Hey, Mom, make a post about the house! I can help you put pictures into it.

I'm so glad for them about getting the new house, up in a different area, but still the greater Baton Rouge area. It's going to be much nicer for them. They deserve it!

I have just had a thought. They make those little robovacuums, that wander around a room and vacuum it for you. I want a model that will let me take the chairs and the runner rugs out of the kitchen and it will wander around and mop the tile floor for me. I wouldn't buy the robovacuum, but I'd seriously want the robomopper.

Okay, this is random, but I lived in Baton Rouge in the late '80s. I grew up in New Orleans, have family scattered about the state. Weird little connections.

Why, so did I. My family moved there in - lessee, I was six, must have been 1975. Moved into a townhouse complex in south Baton Rouge, off Nicholson. Then the next year we moved into a house near Highland and Staring Lane. That's the house they're moving out of now. We were there until my freshman year in high school, then we rented it out for two years - late 83 to late 85, it would have been. I left Baton Rouge in late 1987 to go to college. What area were you in?

I lived in both Tiger Land and Tiger Town. East State, just off campus in 1986, then Earl Gros, then off Highland and Lee, I think it was for a bit of 88-89.
