It's a wet, thundering, gray day. All night and all day we've been getting waves of thunderstorms, pouring rain, lots of lightning. At times, ongoing rumbling whole-house shaking power-flickering lightning. Which unnerves me, partially reminding me of earthquakes back in CA, partially making me worry about tornadoes - would I hear one? The whole "like an oncoming train" thing is pretty useless in Saginaw. Bathing the babies, I wondered if I'd hear the Saginaw siren, and how fast I could get two naked wet babies downstairs and into the laundry room. My shower was the fastest of my life, I think. Went downstairs afterwards and checked weatherbug - no tornado warnings, just floods, so should be okay. The radar shows waves and waves of this, coming and going, and the forecast hints that it may well go on all week.

All week. No swimming. Bleagh. I am annoyed. And grey days are depressing. [livejournal.com profile] selenite has no network connection today, so I have nobody to chat with.

However, the X prize has been won. So overall, I gotta say it's a good day.

Does one big thing going up into sky make up for lots of little stuff coming down from sky?

It was a pretty special big thing, so on the grand scheme of things, yes.

I have a pretty hard time when it's dark and gray for days, so reminding myself of the grand scheme of things should help.
