Kids update

Tuesday Jamie cut his 8th tooth, the lower left 2nd incisor we'd been waiting for. Molars next, and the gums are pretty swollen.
I went shoe-shopping with them Wednesday. Maggie still can fit into her size 6, but only JUST. And since she currently just has her summer sandals and her pretty white shoes, I went ahead and got her a pair of brown velcro-closing shoes, with higher legs, sorta boot-like, in size 6 1/2. Perhaps if we're very lucky with timing, she can pass them down to Jamie in turn. He's size 5, and got his first pair of shoes. I hated to do it - he talks with his feet the way some people do with their hands, and likes to be barefoot. He'll pull off socks almost as fast as I get them on. So I said give me something that he can't pull off. They suggested laces, but I remembered what a pain that had been with Maggie. I settled on a pair of plain navy Roobez elastic shoes, which are more like leather booties. Should be a good compromise for him.
They're both doing well. Maggie keeps adding more and more words and phrases to her vocabulary. They're both fairly cuddly. Jamie's getting better and better at walking, and so big and sturdy I'm really having a hard time looking at him and saying "baby" with a straight face.
