Corelle shopping trip
Feb. 3rd, 2007 09:33 pmMore fun news of the day - after my appointment today
selenite and I went out to Grapevine Mills outlet mall for the Corelle shopping trip that had been planned for my birthday.
Calloway it was. They did have big sets, but unfortunately they all were sets with teacups and saucers, not the glasses. Hm. Oh well. We got a SuperSet - service for 8 of dinner plates, salad plates, dessert plates, cereal bowls, pasta bowls, teacups, saucers, and a serving bowl and a platter.
We also bought a gravy bowl, salt and pepper shakers, two more of the 1-quart bowls, a tray, a lazy susan, a cookie jar, and a set of 3 enamel-over-steel straight-sided bowls with lids.
I wanted a spoon rest, but they were out. They also didn't have the casserole bowls or the "bake and serve" bowls. Maybe later for those. Karl convinced me that yes, it's a bit silly for me to get the sugar and creamer set, we wouldn't have much use for them. I also didn't get the trivet or the burner covers - not sure I'd use those.
We also got a bigger waffle iron that Karl saw and wanted, and a glass carafe I intend to use for water.
Now, ideally we need to get all the dishes through the dishwasher, and all the old stuff boxed up to go to Goodwill. (Unless we know anybody locally who needs dishes?)
At the moment, after dinner and getting home, we don't even have the energy to go get them out of the back of the van...
While we were in the mall we did a bit of walking, and wandered into the Highlights store. They had the most darling wooden castle. Drawbridge AND portcullis! Cute.
