I commented this on [livejournal.com profile] selenesue's journal, and what the heck, I'm going to post it here.

I'm going to risk sticking my neck out and admit that I seem to be the only person I know who likes DST. Actually, I LOVE DST. I look forward to it all winter and dance the happy dance when it gets here. I like light. More light in the early morning doesn't do me much good. More light in the evening means I get to do things with my family. Means occasionally I get to spend time during the week with my husband in DAYLIGHT. Love it. I'm much more likely to have us go do something in the evening if it's light. When it's dark way before he gets home, I'm lonely and depressed and cranky and feel like I'm entombed.

So YAY light! Spring is good.

You are an odd bird. But more time with [livejournal.com profile] selenite is the best reason I've ever heard for DST!

I can't be the only one out there who enjoys long bright summer evenings!

I like having lots of light for longer in the evenings, too, mainly because I like having lots of light any time I'm awake. I'm usually an evening/night person, and now more of that is lit up :)

Personally, I'd rather they compromise at half an hour between and leave it there all year. I dislike the time changes, although I've learned the trick of setting my alarm clock ahead five minutes a day for the two weeks before DST starts; no time-change migraine so far this year!

I like having more light in the evening, except that it makes it harder to get Thomas to bed at a reasonable hour. I can tolerate putting Thomas on the bus in the dark, but I don't like having to wait until 7:15am again for it to be light enough to do outside stuff -- mowing my yard before leaving for work is out for the next few weeks.

YES.

That's exactly what I hate. It's just harder on this end because they've taken away my hour and I don't get it back till October!

I'm tired.

You know, when I'm spending a lot of time getting woken up in the wee hours by the baby, and generally burning the candle at both ends, and having a hard time getting to sleep when I do go down, what's an hour over a weekend, in exchange for sunlight?

I'm *always* tired.

I love it, too.

One of the things that changes (and it seems silly) is that I walk my dog first thing in the morning now, and I like that.

Soon, I will be able to go for long ambling romps after work. That is teh best.

Put me in the list of wierdos who like DST as well.

Mind you, I hate the first week of it, as the body adjusts to getting up an hour earlier, but the extra light in the evening? Heavenly.

I agree. Sunlight good. More light tends to mean I am a happier person all around. I wonder if I have seasonal affective disorder or something.

All I know is I like being able to go outside later and later, look around, and say to myself, "Isn't it a pretty day out?" instead of, "It's night already?"

My grandmother refused to change over to DST. Too hard on the cows. Granted, she only had two cows, but they were ornery ones.
