Birdfeeder and cats
Apr. 11th, 2005 03:18 pmI refilled the birdfeeder again this morning. It continues to be marvelous entertainment for us all. Maggie and I watch the birds and I talk about them to her, she's learned about the doves especially.
And the cats are entranced. Karina especially likes to sit here on the windowsill staring at them. These windows have the special screens to shut out hot westerly light, so they can't see her. But man, she can see them.
A few moments ago a red-headed finch flew over and sat on the brick windowsill on the other side of the window and screen from Karina. Right next to Karina's head. Oh man, she was chattering and jumping and trying to get at it and generally going nuts until the bird flew away.
Now she's eyeing a dove on the ground, which I would admit would make a good meal for her. Even if she could get out there, she'd never catch it, though. But with the window, she can dream.
