Okay, back to the knitting
Apr. 29th, 2005 02:04 pmI took my mother-in-law back to the airport today. Maggie misses her already. But I think she'll be okay.
Now I want to see if I can get some serious knitting time in. Okay, I also need to clean house. But I need to knit some first.
(My goodness, I actually have personal emails. Okay, read those first, THEN knit.)
I stopped at Simpatico on the way home, because it's very convenient from the airport drive, and picked up the 32" #9 circ I need for the lace throw I'm doing next. Now I must frantically knit Maggie's 2nd sock, duplicate stitch the hearts on both of them, and throw the picture up for the Six Sox Knitalong - there's an extra raffle for those of us that finish by the end of month. Then and only then do I give myself permission to cast on the throw.
I also checked out a book I'd been hearing about online, Meg Swansen's _A Gathering of Lace_. Apparently it's not a new book, but you know, I live under a rock and all that, so I don't see these things. Some knitbloggers are doing lace knitalongs from it. Simpatico had their library copy but none for sale. I looked through it - while Maggie played with their toybox and a lovely lady went through an Anne Geddes picture book with her, how wonderfully child friendly!
Result - I COVET THIS BOOK. It must be mine! But they didn't have any for sale. I called the other LYS, Jennings St Yarns (ooh, give me an excuse to go there!) but they didn't have it either. I expect there will be a bookstore visit this weekend. I considered just going right to the bookstore, but better to wait until later in the weekend, when Karl can come along and have the pleasure of a bookstore trip, too. (Okay, and he can help with the kids, and if he drives I can knit in the passenger seat...)
Now off to read the personal emails, and knit. The huge backlog of email lists can wait.
