pattern thinking
May. 16th, 2005 05:33 pmSo my mother told me today that she's in a knitting group that is asking about am I going to put out another pattern soon. I admitted to her that I've had another sock pattern chewing around in my backbrain, waiting for time to design it. This was enough of a spur that this afternoon, having finally gotten the kids to take a nap, I'm designing away.
I *think* it will be nice, but I can't be sure, so I'll have to just cast on soon and go at it. I keep coming up with designs with odd symmetry. It is going to make the setup directions a bit more complicated, but it really won't be any harder to knit. And I'm going to set the needles up so that every needle starts and ends with a knit stitch, that should make it nicer.
I suspect I'm going to be scrabbing for time to go off and cast this on and try it out.
Once I do it, if it comes out decently, I have to decide what to do with it. Mom suggested I could submit it for the next year of the Six Sox Knitalong. I suppose I could, although since they did one of mine last year, I don't know if they'd want another one. I'm thinking I'd like to submit it to a knitting magazine or something, get myself published if I could. I'm not sure where to send it. Maybe send it to a bunch of places at once and see who (if any) responds?
