I found this wandering through a journal I don't usually read, and I'm so glad I did. I'm a Sayers fan, and have not really encountered any Wooster and Jeeves yet - I mean, I've heard of it, I have a vague idea, but I haven't experienced it yet myself.

He's one of the finest literary stylists and generally funny writers of the 20th century. Not just for Jeeves, either -- I confess a slight preference for Uncle Gally at Blanding Castle. If you've seen any of the BBC series starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, they did Wodehouse about as well as mere mortals can but the original source material is actually funnier.
