knitting frustration

Why oh why do I never have the brains to write down things like what needle size I used on a project, when I'm always going off and changing things anyway? It isn't anything like the yarn that the pattern calls for, so I can't even judge by what size needle the pattern had.

Bother. I thought this was going to be a one-off, I guess.

one of the things I do is keep knitting patterns in individual plastic folders or bag, and I include my swatch, as well as notes on what I've done to modify the pattern. If I am knitting a pattern from a book, a photocopy it so that I can mark it up.
