So last night I finally tried sushi. We went out to have dinner at Tokyo Steakhouse, where we'd eaten before, but in addition to the table-cooked stuff, got sushi appetizers. Two kinds, tuna rolls and a salmon sushi thing. I was feeling experimental. I had expected to stay far away from the wasabi, but Miles mixed a very small amount of it in with a lot of soy sauce, and had me try that. That was okay, just like really intense soy sauce. With the tuna roll, I didn't like the taste or texture of the seaweed, and didn't like the taste of the raw tuna. Just had one bit of those. For the salmon, the taste was okay, but the texture wasn't something I liked. I tried the whole thing, and I did like it better with the wasabi-soy sauce mixture, but I did eventually decide, no, I don't care for it.
But I tried it!
But I tried it!

you should also check out Sushi Yama, if you're ever over in Dallas. it's right next to TI on Forest, and where all the TI Orientals go for lunch, etc. it's been my fav for a decade.

My standard rule of thumb on food selection -
