Agh. I got the computer unpacked and hooked up in the hotel room today. It booted up just fine, and I set up dialup for Earthlink. Couldn't get through, all busy signals. Then Maggie-baby got in there, and was pounding on the keyboard - I figured she couldn't achieve much, she never has before. But later when I went in there it appeared to have been set to shut down - and now it won't reboot. Kernel file dead. Except I can't tell when it's trying to reboot from the CD - which is the OS disk, it had needed repair - or from the hard drive. Sometimes it seems like it's trying to keep booting from the CD but that's only working part of the time. And I haven't been able to fix it. And short moments on the lobby hotel computer are all the connection I have to the outside world. Computer addict in serious pain here...

On the other hand, looks like we're likely to make an offer on a house tomorrow. Which is good, but has me nervous, distracted, and trying to figure out a lot of stuff I don't understand.
