One baby sweater. Two sleeves. Cast on at the same time to one long circular needle, so that in theory I should be able to keep working on them in parallel, and they'll be exactly the same length. The same number of rows.

In theory.

In actuality, I seem to be too dumb a knitter to keep track which one I'm on, and somehow have gotten one sleeve longer than the other.

GRRRRRR.

You need to put a safety pin on one, so you know which is the first sleeve. Otherwise, it's easy to knit sleeve two again, thinking you are on sleeve one. (Don't even ask how I came by this knowledge! VBG!).

So just work on the short one to catch up.

I did just work on the short one to catch up.

But - even if I mark one with a safety pin, the trick is knowing whether I work again on #1 or on to #2. That's where I get baffled. If that makes sense.
