Further sogginess

As of 5:49 pm we've beaten the previous record for rainfall on this date - and there's plenty more rain expected before midnight.

Haltom City, Watauga, and North Richland Hills are all having flash floods. The 820 by Rufe Snow was flooded in one direction. Haven't found out yet which direction, or if it's still flooded.

Fortunately it sounds like the west side of Fort Worth is okay, so Karl should get home fine.

One news site has video showing waist-deep flooding in North Richland Hills.

EDIT: Tomorrow they say 1-3" likely, 5" possible. Whee.

Are animals starting to gather in pairs?

Oh, some time ago. The slugs have been climbing up our house in pairs. Our two cats have been keeping to the upstairs as much as possible.

The water isn't coming into the house yet, is it? Are y'all as likely to float away as some of the folks they keep showing on television? (I will resist the urge to call them idiots. I will resist it. It's my upbringing in hurricane country talking.)

No water in our house, nor do I think it likely. The worst it got today was for a while the water flowing down the sides of our street met in the middle, and the whole street was a stream. It was almost up to the top of the curb. Remember, our driveway slopes UP from the street. I think we'll be okay. But it is getting pretty bad in a lot of places.
