spiffy time
Jan. 17th, 2004 03:18 pmSo I had a really spiffy time last night. We went to a local poly group's social dinner, way the heck out north of Dallas. The drive sucked - we were having a strong rainstorm, with flood warnings and a flash flood watch, and I almost changed my mind about going. We got VERY wet getting the kids all inside. But we had fun. Good food, met nice people, had lots of interesting conversations.
The kids were okay. Maggie actually fell asleep just before we got there, and Karl managed to use the stroller hood to protect her from the rain, and she didn't wake up until near the end. We'd gotten Brendan some activity books, crayons, and a pencil, and he sat and occupied himself with them very nicely, was well-behaved and quiet. Jamie was awake and alert and insisting on alternating between frequent nursings and changings - the kid went through 7 diapers in 2 hours, I kid you not.
Got home pretty late, tired out today and not getting much accomplished. Karl did take Maggie to Gymboree this morning, and reported she had a really good time.
