Alanna's first solids

We were eating out at Outback last night with the kids. Alanna was getting fussy, and possibly wanted to eat. We were in the middle of the room, crowded, no real privacy, so I didn't want to nurse her right away, especially as distracted by the room as she was - and I'd fed her just before dinner. So I handed her a piece of bread.

Nom nom nom! She went right to gumming it.

Just as well she was wearing brown, as she got crumbs all over. She gummed up two pieces of bread, and I'm pretty sure she actually ate some of it.

Part of what was so cool about this is that Maggie's first solids was also Outback brown bread, back in California!

Forget Browncoat - she's a Brownonesie!

*laugh*

Congrats on the solids!

Aww...definitely needs a "Nom nom nom" caption. And that last pic is like, "Mom, you have some now!" Was she really trying to share? Kieran did that...sometimes I had to fake taking a bite since it was a gooey mess, whatever it was.

She did seem to be trying to shove some towards my mouth at one point - but at 5 months, I'm not sure if that was on purpose or random.

Bread is almost universally kid food. (JJ loves the stuff.)

Part of what was so cool about this - and I forgot to put it in the post but I'll edit it and add it now - is that Maggie's first solids was also Outback brown bread, back in California!
