Cheerios, the world's amazing baby food
Nov. 20th, 2007 09:18 pmOkay... Alanna does not seem to be satisfied with nursing these days. She's grabbing for everything I eat, nursing and nursing and nursing and still trying to chew on my chin and cheek.
So... I just buckled her into a high chair for the first time, and gave her a pile of cheerios to gum on.
We'll see what she thinks. I'm not really ready for her to be ready for solids yet!
Not sure what else to give her - I could make up some oatmeal for her, I suppose. Or try her on apple sauce. I should pick up a banana sometime soon.

Alanna's first solids

We were eating out at Outback last night with the kids. Alanna was getting fussy, and possibly wanted to eat. We were in the middle of the room, crowded, no real privacy, so I didn't want to nurse her right away, especially as distracted by the room as she was - and I'd fed her just before dinner. So I handed her a piece of bread.

Nom nom nom! She went right to gumming it.

Just as well she was wearing brown, as she got crumbs all over. She gummed up two pieces of bread, and I'm pretty sure she actually ate some of it.
Part of what was so cool about this is that Maggie's first solids was also Outback brown bread, back in California!
