Adventures, with cream

Last night Alanna and I met up with fordprfct to go do some errands and Christmas shopping together. We did one stop, then went to have dinner. We were up in Southlake, and feeling adventuresome, so just figured we'd go somewhere different, whatever we saw that appealed to us. We ended up at the Cheesecake Factory, where neither of us had ever gone before.

My, it was GOOD. I had steak diane and herb crusted salmon. VERY tasty. And we had cheesecake afterwards, of course. A slice of vanilla bean cheesecake and one of Godiva chocolate cheesecake. Both with lots of whipped cream.

When I'm eating out with Alanna, she spends part of the meal in her carseat, so I *can* eat, but often spends a good chunk of the meal in my lap - while we're waiting, or while I have something I can reasonably eat one-handed. So she was in my lap, and I decided to offer her some of the whipped cream.

MAJOR success. She adored it. 4 pictures, starting here. They were low-light cameraphone pics, but I've lightened them up as best as I could. She was happily glomming onto my finger.

The waitress adored her, held her and talked to her for a while. She was admired by another of the waiters, too.

Then after dinner we went out on the rest of the shopping - which, sadly, I struck out on, and will have to try elsewhere. But Alanna was admired some more.

I LOVE Cheesecake Factory. Their Crispy Szechuan Beef is soooo good.
